Goal: Speaking with rhythm by singing along!

Your goal for this month is FLUENCY PRACTICE!  It's important to practice early and often. Beginner Spanish fluency is not talked about very much because most beginners are stressing about verbs and vocabulary... and they don't want to sound unintelligent. Welp, practice doesn't make perfect, but it help you sound "more smarter!"

Find a song, movie/TV scene, or video clip with Spanish slow enough that you can practice imitating it - by imitating another speaker, you can practice different intonations (accusing tone vs curious tone) and rhythm (I love William Shatner's Captain Kirk, but we don't want to talk like him!). Below are some resources to get you started.

  1. Dime Luna - Maná (click here for lyrics!)

Try memorizing and singing along with just the first verse!

  1. Nicaragua Nicaragüita - Banda Bassotti;  tap the "cc" (closed captions) to follow along.

  1. Así es la vida - Elefante (click here for lyrics!)

  1. Sometimes villains aren't wrong! This video has tons of movie scenes that range from Disney cartoons to Pirates of the Caribbean to The Joker! All scenes have text to help you follow along. Which phrase are you going to practice?

  1. I Have a Dream - Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr., in Spanish. Tap the "cc" (closed captions) to follow along.
