Which meeting

level is right for you?

Membership is not required

It is very common for your conversational skills to not be quite as good as your knowledge of the language. After your first meeting, Addie will let you know if you belong in a different Fluency level.

Meeting Descriptions

Recommended Donation: $10 per person, per meeting.

Discussion meetings feature content that is read aloud and discussed. Meeting content is posted ahead of the meeting, allowing attendees to prepare and practice.

While all attendees are generally expected to treat the content as a study opportunity, intermediates and advanced participants may choose to "wing it", and show up without preparation as a test of their fluency.

Practice your listening comprehension through movies and TV shows!

FLUENCY WORKSHOPS

Cost: $25

Fluency workshops provide an opportunity for all Spanish learners to bring precision to their Spanish! Focusing on a simple interaction and then building upon it, each grammar concept is explained in simple terms (along side grammatical terms for those who wish to learn more), and the fluency skills are demonstrated by scripted games and activities with other participants.

Fluency workshops come with a free study guide that provides information on vocabulary, grammar, and additional resource recommendations.

RESTAURANT MEETINGS

ANNIVERSARY PARTY

Cost: Announced with event

Let's celebrate your Spanish-language journey! Enjoy the food, activities, dancing, and member recognitions.

Recommended Donation: $5 per person, per meeting.

Conversation meetings are reserved for the Advanced fluency level, as an opportunity for them to practice precise & advanced grammar, vocabulary retention, pacing, pronunciation, and fluidity. There is no set topic, and participants are expected to show up with something to talk about!

Throughout the meeting, we may consult a translation app, pepper in the odd English word, or choose to Hispanify an English word. We also enjoy making up words (and sometimes we make up words that already exist!). This meeting type is focused on navigating friendly, spontaneous conversation in Spanish.
